Simple Bread
A simple no-knead bread recipe.
Prepare the yeast
1/4 teaspoon yeast or 2 teaspoons of active yeast(read label for your yeast)
One cup of warm water, @ 100 F and add a pinch of sugar.
Wait for the yeast to foam up. If it does not then you might have some bad yeast.
Mix up the dry ingredients in a mixing bowl.
3 cups of flour or all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
Add in some extra hot tap water.
1/2 cup of hot tap water
Stir in the water and yeast mixture into the dry ingredients until it is thoroughly mixed in. After 8 or so hours, get out a cutting board and spread a bit of flower on it.
Bit of extra flour for shaping, maybe about 2 tablespoons.
Parchment Paper
Glass Bowl
Dutch oven
Scrape the dough out of the bowl onto the cutting board and fold it into a ball.
Place the dough ball into a glass bowl lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth towel. Let it sit for 35 minutes.
While the dough is setting up, preheat the oven to 450F and place the dutch oven in the oven while it heats up.
Once the dough has setup of at least 35 minutes, lift it, along with the parchment paper, out of the bowl, and place them in the preheated dutch oven. Place the covered dutch oven into the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, take it out of the oven and get rid of the paper. Place the bread back into the dutch oven. Place it back in the oven uncovered for 15 minutes.
