This recipe makes two loaves of bread.
Get two bowls, one for wet and one for dry. In the larger of the two bowls, mix the "wet" ingredients
2 cups hot water (around 100 F, typically hot on your kitchen tap)
1.5 to 2 Tbsp of Active Dry Yeast (read the label)
1/4 cup of sugar
Wait for a "head" to form on the yeast water mixture to ensure your yeast works. Once you see a "head," add the following:
1/4 cup of olive oil
In the dry bowl, sift out 6 cups of flour.
6 cups of bread flour
Add one cup of flour into the "wet" bowl until you have mixed in all the flour. Turn the dough on a lightly floured board or counter and knead the bread for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Place dough in an oiled bowl and turn to coat. Cover and let rise until doubles in size, about one hour.
Turn the oven on and preheat to 350 F.
Punch down the dough and knead for about 3 minutes. Split in half and shape two loaves. Place in the bread pan of choice and let rise for 30 minutes.
